Inner City Beauty

Well I thought maybe I should start a teaching blog. I am a student teacher in Michigan and love every minute of it! I have experience with students in grades K-5 and am currently in a 3rd/4th grade class. My passion is to reach the unreachable. I love inner city children. Well, I love all children, but the inner city holds a special place in my heart. I did teacher assisting in a pretty wealthy area and it just wasn't the same. Sure, the kids were well behaved, but I found myself looking for something more- something deeper. I know I am being called to what many teacher find as there "last resort". I just can't seem to help it. The disruptive student, the loner student, the student who comes from a broken family and therefore deemed "unreachable", these are my students. These are the children I seek out and strive to push. Every student has the ability to achieve, even if it's in their own steps. This is my inspiration as a teacher, to teach, but to never, ever, stop learning.
